This might be weird, but do you know that every year about 6.6 million US citizens buy a one-way ticket to being an expatriate and more, so they get an option of making important choices.

Do you have plans of moving to a whole new country anytime soon? Well, it’s damn possible and easy, and living in another country is dependent on some factors you need to consider.

Living in a different county or either still moving to a different country is a different experience from just visiting a destination. Although there are ups and downs of living/moving to a different country; there are things you should consider when moving.

Things To Consider Before Moving Abroad

  • Work and money

You should consider how you will support yourself when you move abroad – in a broader sense you can get a job, have enough savings or a passive income to support yourself. Your income should be the most important factor to think of before you move. In a country like Foreign USA, as a visitor, you could easily get a job to earn an adequate amount of money while you move. Even if you get a job with a company, you could freelance to get extra income plus – jobs like graphic design, writing and programming. Jobs like these are always in demand.

  • You should consider getting a visa

It’s important you legally move to a country. Irrespective of the type of visa you need to travel – you would need a visa for residency, or a work permit. In some countries, you’re even allowed to work for about a year or two, to feel the whole experience of that country.

  • Language

Every citizen in a country generally speaks an accepted language. When you plan on moving to a country, it’s good you learn her language, when you do this, you find it easier to communicate with people and do basic things – receiving mails, visiting government offices. Before you leave the country you could find guides – which of course you can do online. So he/she explains all the legal things you’ll have to do once you arrive.

  • Figure Out If You Have Friends Or Family In The Country You Plan On Moving To

When you move to a new country, it might or can be emotional for you because you’re leaving them behind, missing them, even more, you might end up feeling lonely. When you finally move; meeting new friends can take time, but it could be easier to make new friends if you get involved in social events and going out or even more try getting a good job and having new workmates.

  • The Religious And Cultural Rules Of The Country

It’s good and respectful if you know or even learn a lot about the religious activities practised in the country you plan on moving into – in some countries if you’re unmarried and live with a partner; it might cause problems, or even more, some countries are against homosexuality. If you have a particular lifestyle that may not be accepted or consoles in the country you plan on going or moving to, check with official sources to plan before you move

  • Cost Of Moving

Moving abroad or travelling abroad can be so expensive, most especially if you’re travelling with luggage, the quickest and easiest way to solve this is getting a job that caters for your expenses. If you’re lucky, some countries or international schools even pay for your flights.

  • Location And Cost To Go Home

You should consider living or moving to another country that’s close to your home and family members. So when you eventually move abroad, you should know whether it’s affordable to rent a place and even more so, you should move to a location that’s not farther from your home – so it’s affordable to visit your home country and meet your loved ones.

It’s a good idea for the internet or connection speed of the country you plan to line or move to, to work well and fast enough. So you can talk online with friends, family or business connections. More so, if the internet is good and reliable, you could easily pass time — if you’re bored — by binge-watching TV, films or TV shows online. I’m more sure your internet speed and connection should be reliable.
