Is there anything better than taking a memorable trip with your loved one? Not in our book. You’re casting away the humdrum of the everyday, and spending some time exploring the world. What’s not to love? While it’s possible to weave in romance in any getaway, there are some destinations that just seem to stand out when it comes to all things love. Paris, London, and New York, to name just three, all have romance flowing through their veins. In this blog, we’re going to take a look at the last one on the list, New York, and make some recommendations that’ll ensure your trip is super romantic.

Strolling Through the Park

The perception is that New York is all go, go, go, but this is not the case. While it can be pretty manic to live there, if you’re just visiting, then you’ll find plenty of opportunities to do nothing but stroll hand in hand with your loved one. And is there anywhere better to do this than Central Park? There are so many romantic walking spots in the park, over bridges, under tunnels, next to the pond, and so on. It’s a great place just to chat about all the good things in your life.

Where to Stay

Take it from us: if you want your trip to be romantic, then be sure to stay somewhere central. And by that, we mean somewhere below 110th street in Manhattan. You’ll have everything you need right on your doorstep, but more importantly, it’ll forego any need to get public transport back to your hotel after a day of exploring. Nothing can kill the air of romance quicker than a rowdy bus. If you’re only staying for a couple of nights, look at staying in a boutique hotel — they can cost a little more, but they’re oh so romantic.

Eating Well

New York is one of the world’s best food cities, and there’s no shortage of outstanding options, no matter what you’re looking for. If you’re traveling with your partner, then look at making a reservation at a romantic restaurant, such as ONE Dine Restaurant. There’s nothing quite like eating a delicious meal while also enjoying a fantastic view of New York. You’ll share a bottle of wine, food, and a memorable experience…now that’s romantic!

Shared Themes

New York has a long and illustrious history, and has been the birthplace for many movements and artistic achievements. If you and your partner share interests (as you probably do), then take a look at exploring the city’s connection to that interest. Perhaps you both love the writing of New York authors, in which case you can take a tour of their old haunts. Or perhaps you always bond over the movies that have been filmed in the city (such as Home Alone). There’s nothing quite like going on a treasure hunt to find the precise spot where a scene was shot. And it’ll be even more fun when you’re recreating the shot…!
